Make your gifts useful

Whilst promotional gifts have the initial aim of advertising your company, they should also be a useful addition to your customer’s workplace. While a personalized snow cone maker might seem like a fun item, chances are that it won’t get much use and will end up in the back of a cupboard or in a car boot sale. Instead, lean toward items that will get some use.

Your choice should reflect your company in a number or ways. First of all, the item should be representative of your industry. Restaurants do well with magnets and calendars containing coupons are popular. Educational organizations and book stores may choose to print tote or book bags. These items are going to be useful to your customer and therefore will be used, which is of course the whole point.

If you are perplexed about what kind of items might be useful, look around your own work space and think about the items you use on a daily or even weekly basis. Do any of those items have company logos or information on them? Most likely, they do. If that doesn’t help, do the same thing with your customer’s work space. Surely you will find something that can be adapted to your (and their) needs. If after all that you are still stumped, consult a promotional gift specialist or go with a classic item such as an engraved business card holder, coffee mug, or pen set. If you want to be truly innovative, try a personalized USB port or thumb drive.
